Key Election Issues

My commitment is to listen, collaborate, and represent the interests of Whistler residents. Over the past 20+ years, I have lived, worked, volunteered, and raised my family in this community. My experience in housing, safety, tourism, and community service has given me a firsthand understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing Whistler. As a councillor, I will work to ensure thoughtful, balanced decisions that support residents, businesses, and future generations to build a safe, inclusive, and prosperous community for everyone.

Housing

Housing affects every aspect of our community, from workforce retention to quality of life. Having worked in Employee Housing for many years and lived in staff housing, a WHA rental, and a WHA-owned home, I understand the challenges residents face at every stage of the housing continuum.

I believe we must continue exploring creative housing solutions while protecting the character of our neighbourhoods and ensuring Whistler remains a place where people can build long-term lives.

Future Rezoning

Whistler is evolving, and growth must be managed thoughtfully. Decisions about rezoning and development should be guided by comprehensive planning, meaningful community engagement, and consideration of the long-term impacts on infrastructure, housing, transportation, and the environment.

I support a balanced approach that considers the perspectives of residents, businesses, developers, and community organizations.

Climate Change and Wildfire

Climate change is already impacting our community through changing weather patterns, increased wildfire risk, and environmental pressures. Whistler has made important investments in emergency planning and preparedness, and this work must remain a priority.

Council decisions should continue to support climate resilience, wildfire mitigation, environmental stewardship, and community safety to protect both residents and our natural surroundings.

About Nicole

Like many Whistlerites, my story starts with moving here from Ontario for a single season.

In 2002, I landed a job with Whistler Blackcomb Ski School and loved it so much that I returned the following year in a leadership role. When I realized I wanted to build a year-round life in Whistler, I joined WB Employee Housing, where I spent most of my career tackling housing challenges and finding ways to support some of our community's most vulnerable members. I then spent four years as Safety Manager on the mountain, and today I serve as Senior Manager at Lodging Ovations.

Today, I live in Cheakamus with my 13-year-old daughter and am deeply invested in Whistler's future. After more than two decades of living and working in this community, I am ready to give back in a new way by serving as a councilor and helping shape a Whistler that continues to thrive for residents, families, businesses, and future generations.

work within the Whistler community

I believe strong communities are built by people who step up and get involved. When I'm asked, "Can you help with this?" my answer is almost always yes.

Throughout my time in Whistler, I have volunteered with numerous boards and organizations, including the Whistler Community Foundation, Whistler Youth Soccer, Zero Ceiling, Whistler Community Services Society (WCSS), the WB Foundation, Whistler 360, Epic Promise Foundation, and the WB EnviroFund. These opportunities have given me a broad perspective on the needs, challenges, and strengths of our community.
